merenda con corvi
On the steep hill of Monteoliveto, which forms the backdrop to the city of Pinerolo, at 420m above sea level, taking advantage of the excellent exposure to the south, the BEA AGRICULTURAL COMPANY was born in 1999 from the pre-existence of a small winery, with the aim of restoring prestige to a territory that has always been suited to viticulture.
On the edge of the bustle of the city, in addition to the cellar, there is the important project of 3 prestigious apartments born from the respectful renovation of the original farmhouse, to welcome curious travelers in search of tranquility and comfort. Francesco Romano, has redesigned with the eyes of the dreamer the natural and architectural geometries of the spaces to achieve his dream.
Merenda con Corvi was born from the love for the land and the passion for viticulture
The land that was missed by the fathers of previous generations and which for this very reason made the bond so deep in Francis; union that he lives with passion that he passes on to his children so that one day they can continue with the same intensity.
Not an oenological tradition, nor an exaggerated search for new commercial activities, but a dream and enthusiasm that gave life to the BEA AGRICULTURAL COMPANY; born in 1999 from the pre-existence of a small winery, it wants to restore prestige to an area already suited to viticulture in the 18th century. Of the three hectares that make up the property (420 m a.s.l.), just over a third are vineyards: the rows follow one another on the steep hill of Monteoliveto which forms the backdrop to the city of Pinerolo, taking advantage of the excellent southern exposure.
the wine cellar
Work, care and dedication: these are the most important ingredients that chisel the character of our wines
A precious reality where the pursuit of excellence and attention to detail are almost obsessive.
This challenge has led us to favor Barbera, the most representative Piedmontese grape variety, and to experiment, in small quantities, with international grape varieties, Merlot and Pinot Noir, which most fascinate us, as well as a “pop” Nebbiolo made from Picoutener and Chiavennasca grapes, adopting the most advanced cultivation techniques combined with respect for ancient traditions, useful for achieving the highest quality levels.
Since the objective is quality and not quantity, Merenda con Corvi has chosen to halve the yield per hectare foreseen to be regulated, it follows that the total annual production does not exceed 3500 bottles.
The newly built cellar is technologically advanced, as are the winemaking techniques: fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, aging in French oak barriques, bâtonnage technique for pumping over the fine lees.
The aging times are slow and typical of the longest-lived Piedmontese vines, the wine is bottled the second year after the harvest and marketed after a year of rest in glass.
